Don’t be put off by the name of this dish, Funeral Potatoes with Cannabutter is a dish you can use for any occasion!

What exactly are funeral potatoes you ask? Simply put cheesy potatoes! They also go by the name of party potatoes – sounds a little more uplifting right?

A staple at funerals all across the world, this dish is easy to make, and is a nice filling meal that just about everyone loves.


What Do I Need To Make Funeral Potatoes With Cannabutter?

As the name suggests, you’ll most definitely need potatoes but that’s a give-in.

In addition to that, you’ll need the following:

  • Frozen hashbrowns
  • Sour Cream
  • Cream of chicken soup
  • Cannabis butter (recipe below)
  • Onion powder
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Cornflakes

Never made this gem of a butter before? It’s versatile and goes with almost anything so whip up a triple batch, freeze the rest, and use what you need for today’s recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 to 1/2 Ounce Cannabis 
  • 1 cup Butter

Instructions

  • Decarboxylate your weed by spreading your cannabis evenly on an oven tray And coat with aluminum foil.
  • Place in the oven on 240F/115C for 25 till 45 minutes, and then let it cool.
  • Grind your dry cannabis or chop it till fine.
  • Place the cannabis in a strong mason jar, add butter and (1 tsp of sunflower lecithin)(optional)
  • Place your closed jar in cold water and let it come to a boil, Boil for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Strain your butter through a cheesecloth.
  • Cool down
  • Now you can use the Cannabis Butter (Cannabutter)

Notes

If using a mason jar, be sure to start with cold water. Furthermore, it is imperative to let the water cool gradually so that your glass will not shatter.

Equipment

  • large casserole dish – oven safe (9 x 13)
  • colander/strainer
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 12 oz bags of frozen hashbrowns
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup cannabutter melted and divided
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups cornflakes crushed

Instructions

  • Place your potatoes in a colander. Let set until thawed and drained.
  • Combine sour cream, soup and 1/2 cannabutter in a bowl. Mix it well. Add salt, onion and cheese to this mixture and mix until all combined.
  • Add potatoes to mixture and stir until all combined. Place in 9×13 pan.
  • Sprinkle crushed Corn flakes on top and drizzle over remaining cannabutter.Bake uncovered at 350 for 40-50 minutes.
