Tres Leches Cannabutter & Strawberry Cake

For an incredibly moist, delicious weed dessert you’ll love making Tres Leches Cannabutter & Strawberry Cake!

Cannabutter, a butter-based cooking staple, is one of the most important ingredients in our arsenal for this recipe.

It also turns out to be amazingly easy to make!

In this recipe for tres leches strawberry cake with cannabutter, I start with a simple boxed cake and sub in bud butter to make it weed-tastic!

This recipe also combines some of my favourite flavours: freshly picked strawberries, cannabis and a bunch of different, sweet tasting kinds of milk – hence the name: tres leches!

First, you’ll need to make bud butter, and here’s how:

Ingredients

  • 1/4 to 1/2 Ounce Cannabis 
  • 1 cup Butter

Instructions

  • Decarboxylate your weed by spreading your cannabis evenly on an oven tray And coat with aluminum foil.
  • Place in the oven on 240F/115C for 25 till 45 minutes, and then let it cool.
  • Grind your dry cannabis or chop it till fine.
  • Place the cannabis in a strong mason jar, add butter and (1 tsp of sunflower lecithin)(optional)
  • Place your closed jar in cold water and let it come to a boil, Boil for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Strain your butter through a cheesecloth.
  • Cool down
  • Now you can use the Cannabis Butter (Cannabutter)

Notes

If using a mason jar, be sure to start with cold water. Furthermore, it is imperative to let the water cool gradually so that your glass will not shatter.

  • regular milk (2% or 3%)
  • cannabis butter softened
  • sugar
  • heavy whipping cream
  • fresh strawberries

Where Did This Cake Originate?

The origin of tres leches cake is debatable – many claim it’s Mexican, while others swear it’s from Nicaragua or Cuba.

Regardless of where it came from, it’s one of the tastiest and easiest cakes to make!

Equipment

  • rectangular cake oven dish
  • Large Bowl
  • Hand Mixer
  • Spatula
  • fork

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix in a box substituting cannabis butter for oil or butter in the recipe.
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can sweetened condense milk
  • 1 cup milk any kind
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced thinly into rounds or 'hearts'

Instructions

  • Bake the cake from the box following the instructions, and substitute cannabis butter for any oil or butter in the recipe.
  • Remove the cake from the oven, and using a fork poke holes everywhere until the entire top is full of little holes.
    Mix your three types of milk together, and pour overtop of the entire cake.
  • Place in the fridge, covered, for about 1 hour.
  • In the meantime, beat heavy cream with sugar until it forms stiff peaks aka whipping cream!
  • Cut up your strawberries into thin slices.
  • After the hour is up, remove cake and add whipping cream on top in a nice thick layer, and gently place strawberries on top in rows. Serve immediately, and refirdgerate when not enjoying!
