How To Make Cannabis-Infused Maple Syrup

Cannabis-Maple-Syrup

Maple Syrup is the heart and soul of Canada – and for good reason! Today we’re tapping into How To Make Cannabis-Infused Maple Syrup.

Sure, you’ve drizzled it generously onto your pancakes or weed waffles, but do you actually know how maple syrup is made?

There’s a reason why they call it ‘tapping’ – and it has nothing to do with shoes.

Maple Syrup is harvested by actually tapping into trees – much like you would tap into a beer keg.

Tapping helps get out all the good stuff.

The result is a sticky, thick sweet sap that oozes from a tap into a metal bucket.

Maple syrup trees can produce anywhere from 5 -15 gallons of sap.

So can you slurp it straight from the tree? Nope!

Much like decarboxylating your weed, you need to treat it and temper it first.

After the harvesting is done, the sticky-sweet sap is transported to a sugar house where it boils down to become real maple syrup.

As it boils, water evaporates and becomes denser and sweeter. The sap boils until it reaches the density of maple syrup.

Maple syrup is not just a delicious addition at the breakfast table, it’s also a natural sweetener in smoothies and baked goods, and you can use it to glaze salmon, roasted root veggies, and vinaigrettes too!

Equipment

  • Double Boiler
  • Large Mason Jar or Two
  • Whisk
  • Good working stove
  • Cheesecloth & Funnel

Ingredients

  • 3.5 grams Cannabis decarbed
  • 1 cup Pure maple syrup

Instructions

  • Combine your decarbed cannabis and maple syrup in a double boiler to apply gentle heat on the stove top.
  • Simmer on low heat for 40 minutes. The mixture should never come to a full boil.
  • Strain the maple syrup. Set a funnel on top of a jar and line the inside with cheesecloth. Once the maple syrup has cooled off, pour it over the cheesecloth funnel and allow it to strain freely.
  • DO NOT SQUEEZE! if you do, the cheesecloth may push more bad-tasting left overs and you don't want that.
  • Use on waffles pancakes, in smoothies or as a glaze & enjoy!
  • REMEMBER: Dose low, and slow!
