Why You Will Love This Method
If you want to make yummy weed edibles, the first step in the process is to decarb your weed to activate the CBD or THC – depending on which one you want.
The traditional way of decarboxylation involves baking cannabis in the oven but the smell may be too much, or if you live in an apartment or townhome complex, for example, you may not want the smell to seep out – which it will this way.
Decarbing weed in the Instant Pot or pressure cooker is easy, effective and minimizes smell.
What Do I Need To Decarb?
Instant Pot – you can use just about any instant pot on the market, and you’ll be using the high-pressure setting.
Trivet or Steamer Basket – to hold the mason jars upright in the pot, you’ll need a steamer basket or a trivet.
Mason Jars – grab pint-sized jars with lids.
Cannabis flower – use your desired amount of flower and select your preference – CBD or THC.
Tell Me What I Need To Do:
Are you feeling a little nervous about trying this method?
No worries because below you will find the very easy, step-by-step instructions so that you’ll successfully decarb your weed!
Step 1: Place your cannabis in a mason jar, and add a lid – keep it tight but not too tight. You don’t need to grind it first, just break it up into smaller-sized pieces.
Place the jar in the trivet or steamer basket.
Put the trivet or basket with mason jar inside, into the instant pot.
Add 4 cups of water to the instant pot.
Set the instant pot to cook on high pressure for 40 minutes if you’re using THC, or 90 minutes for CBD flower.
Keep the seal tight, don’t allow any steam or pressure to come out.
What’s Next?
Release the pressure when the time is up (carefully) I like to use oven mitts just in case steam blasts out on my hands.
Remove the jars with oven mitts and set them aside somewhere safe to cool, once cooled you’re good to go!
What Weed Edibles Can I Make Now?
You can make anything that calls for cannabis!! Why not make a sweet treat like weed cookies?

Notes
If using a mason jar, be sure to start with cold water. Furthermore, it is imperative to let the water cool gradually so that your glass will not shatter. The video guide might be slightly different than the blog recipe. The blog recipe is the most updated and accurate.
