Can marijuana improve the quality of your life with your partner? If this resonates with you, we’re going to explore How Cannabis May Affect Relationships.
If you or your partner, or both of you consume cannabis on a regular basis, a few things should be worked out when making BIG relationship decisions.
Mark Travers, Ph.D., says that research published in the Journal Cannabis offers evidence that occasional to frequent marijuana use can result in heightened relationship intimacy!
A study at the University of Buffalo and Houston had participants who were in committed relationships, and who consumed marijuana more than 2 times a week document the intimate parts of their day:
The question they had to ask themselves was: “At any time yesterday, did you have an interaction or meaningful conversation with your partner that involved intimacy, love, caring, or support?”
Participants noticed that intimacy was higher than they thought, and many found that it happened usually after 2 hours after cannabis consumption.
This is highly speculative at this point, and not enough research has been conducted to give you the black and white answers to this.
What we can share is that when consuming cannabis, many people feel more open, relaxed, and in a state of euphoria where relationship triggers or challenges just don’t exist!
Doing the above activities may really help you in learning more about each other and how cannabis may affect relationships.
Is there really such a thing? Well.. sadly, it’s a possibility. But again, this is subjective and exclusive to two people in a relationship or marriage.
If one of you consumes more weed than the other, it may be a good idea to have a little sit-down and be open and honest with each other and try to find a balance that works so everyone feels happy and safe.
Transparency is key in a relationship at any level.
Another tip if you’re just starting out, is to let the other person know what your general smoking or consuming habits are, or share tasty edible recipes or CBD knowledge in case your partner has had bad experiences in the past.
For some, and I’ve experienced this before, marijuana is a hard no. But to others, it’s an acceptable daily occurrence.
The question to ask yourself is: What’s my happy balance when it comes to weed, and does my partner share the same or similar sentiments?
Oh the possibilities! They really are endless when it comes to two people who love experimenting with weed.
When it comes to baking and cooking, there are some fabulous recipes you can try together as a way to bond, experience team-work, and rather than be on the side of arguing, enjoy being on the side of agreement!
You can’t go wrong with chocolate, especially with Valentine’s Day – so here’s a tasty little weed edible recipe to try and enjoy together.
Why not eat these edibles in bed and then see where the night takes you?! Wink wink!
If you have a bathtub big enough for two, then why not hop into a hot one together, and spend time talking about a particular topic that elicits feelings of joy or happiness?
Throw in a few CBD bath bombs, or grab a for joints to enjoy together in the tub. You can even bring in some Cannabis chocolate peanut butter cups in the bathroom too!
Why not ask your partner: ” What are the three things that bring you the most joy”? Or: ” What are three things that I do for you that make you feel loved?”
Asking these kinds of questions in a relaxed and happy environment leaves stress and anger at the door, and invites intimacy inside the tub.
Pick your poison, as they say! Grab a few weed edibles like THC gummy bears and go for a romantic walk together.
Being in nature, with peace all around you can help build intimacy and get you feeling all gooey and relaxed.
Hold hands, and talk about the bigger-picture topics like what you love about your relationship, and memories that made you laugh or feel great when together.
Take some great pics together doing romantic kisses or silly poses using nature’s elements as props. Play and laugh, and be kids all over again.
Activating this side of you can lead to intimacy, and strength in a relationship while enjoying Cannabis together!
