Savoury, full of flavor, delicious and indulgent! Today’s dish is Fried Sage & Cannabis Gnocchi.
Sage is such an aromatic herb that adds a special flavor to any dish.
If you’ve never made or tried gnocchi, we need to get one thing out of the way first.
How Do You Pronounce Gnocchi?
The best way I can describe or spell it without you hearing me say it out loud is like this: “Nyow-kee.”
Gnocchi are little Italian pastas, classically made with potato.
If we were in Italy, you would say: ” Gnocchi Di Patate!
You first have to mash potatoes together with flour and eggs. It sounds easy, but don’t be fooled by the simple ingredients. Gnocchi is hearty, filling and you’ll always find an excuse to eat just one more!

Cannabutter Recipe
In this recipe, we’re using the super popular, easy-to-make and oh-so versatile: Cannabutter!
You’ll be infusing your gnocchi into cannabutter so this is a key component.
A recipe on how to make cannabis butter at home. After many cannabutter recipes, we find that this is by far the best way to infuse weed with butter.
Decarboxylate your weed by spreading your cannabis evenly on an oven tray And coat with aluminum foil.
Place in the oven on 240F/115C for 25 till 45 minutes, and then let it cool.
Grind your dry cannabis or chop it till fine.
Place the cannabis in a strong mason jar, add butter and (1 tsp of sunflower lecithin)(optional)
Place your closed jar in cold water and let it come to a boil, Boil for 2 to 3 hours.
Strain your butter through a cheesecloth.
Cool down
Now you can use the Cannabis Butter (Cannabutter)

If using a mason jar, be sure to start with cold water. Furthermore, it is imperative to let the water cool gradually so that your glass will not shatter.The video guide might be slightly different than the blog recipe. The blog recipe is the most updated and accurate.
I recommend making a big huge batch ahead of time, freezing some of your cannabutter ( to use whenever you like) and that way you can try out a ton of yummy edibles recipes at your leisure without all of the prep-work.
Homemade VS Store-Bought Gnocchi
If you are feeling adventurous and frisky, go right ahead and make yourself a delicious homemade gnocchi.
Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil over high heat. Add gnocchi to water. Wait until the all of the gnocchi float to the surface of the water, and then cook them for 1 minute.
Heat 3 Tbs. of cannabutter in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. When the butter is completely melted, use a strainer to transfer the cooked gnocchi from the boiling water to the skillet, shaking off as much water as possible first. Sprinkle with salt and cook, shaking the pan occasionally to turn the gnocchi, until they’re lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
Set aside.
Making Your Sauce
Use the same skillet and wipe it out if needed. Put it on medium-high heat and add the cannabutter. When the butter has almost completely melted, stir in the sage leaves. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter turns a light brown color and the sage leaves darken and crisp up slightly, for about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Add gnocchi and the lemon zest into the the pan to coat well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
