Decarboxylation is the process of heating your cannabis in the oven at a low and slow temp, which activates the THC in the flower.
Failure to do so, can and will lead to a less-than-desirable high, and will also make your edibles taste completely off.
THC is the ingredient that creates the psychoactive effect – the ‘high’ – and that’s what we want!
Decarbing ensures a balanced, well proportioned high, and a quality edible.
If you’re on a diet or have restrictions when it comes to consuming regular butter, there are many fantastic alternatives on the market like Ghee (clarified butter) or Vegan butter that you can try as well.
Most of the recipes today include using plain old butter mixed with decarbed weed, but if you’re Vegan or need to change it up due to health or nutrition reasons, try your own butter version and see what you think.
The first thing you’ll need to make is of course, the cannabutter!

crispy, easy flatbread with cannabis-butter and garlic dip!
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
In a smaller bowl, beat together the water, egg, and 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil until well mixed.
To the large bowl, add the wet ingredients from the small bowl and mix together. Knead with your hands until the dough comes together. Don't knead too much!
Split the dough into two balls. Let the balls of dough rest for at least as long as it takes for the oven to heat to 400 F – about 30 minutes.
Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper. Place one ball of dough on each cookie sheet and roll the dough out as thin as possible, the thinner the dough, the crispier the flatbread.
Brush each flatbread with 1 tablespoon each of the remaining olive oil (and sprinkle with sea salt if desired).
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the flatbread is lightly browned and crispy.
While your flatbread is baking, you can make the garlic-cannabutter dip!
Garlic Canna Butter Dip
Melt your cannabutter either in the microwave, or on the stove just until warm.
Mix in your minced garlic and set aside.
You can brush this onto the tops or just dip your flatbread in! Enjoy!
