Capsules are just an easy way to dose when you feel like you don’t have time to cook, bake, or inhale.
They’re easy, compact and a fantastic way to enjoy cannabis on the go.
A capsule is a small little pill or container much like all of the other over the counter or prescription meds you can take.
Today’s guide will focus on filling empty capsules with cannabis to create your own capsules that can be swallowed.
Before making your capsules, it’s important to know that even though this may be a new method for you to enjoy cannabis, the same process in the body applies – much like edibles.
This simply means that you’ll receive a totally different high than if you were to smoke or vape.
The experience can vary from person to person, so we always recommend:
Does LOW & SLOW.
Here’s the interesting and beautiful thing about digesting cannabis and the digestive system.
In many cases, it can result a much more powerful experience!
When consuming edibles, THC is absorved into the bloodstream and travels to the liver making it all work quite quickly in your body.
Orally ingested cannabis takes a slower effect than smoking, vaping, etc. The typical onset for an edible to take effect can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2-3 hours. Sometimes even longer.
That’s why the “Marijuana Mantra” is the most important – dosing low and slow, especially for beginners can really be instrumental in creating a positive cannabis experience.
Yes, 100% yes. If you want the benefits of the activated THC and CBD, the slower must be heated in your preferred decarboxylation method.
When you decarb, it’s the process that converts THCa into THC, and CBDa into CBD.
The goal of decarbing is to heat the slower at a low temp to allow the decarboxylation to happen without burning or overheating the cannabis.
You also donot want to wreck the terpenes – another beneficial component of the cannabis flower.
You can decarb two ways, and both are included below:
Step 1: Place your cannabis in a mason jar, and add a lid – keep it tight but not too tight. You don’t need to grind it first, just break it up into smaller-sized pieces.
Remember, Cannadish Chef Says: “Heat It To Eat It!” Always make sure you decarb your weed first, before making any weed edibles.
