Tomatoes are fresh and in season in so many places, so why not make an Ugly Tomato Salad with Cannabis Oil?
It might look a little ugly, but its taste is bursting with freshness with a side of crispy crunch and cannabis goodness.
You’ll need to get your hands on one or two bright red, totally ripe tomatoes.
If you’re like me, and you grew a garden during Covid – you’ll have plenty to use – but some of us aren’t able to grow our own greens, so my suggestion is going to a farmers market.
Even better? Can you take a little drive to the countryside and buy roadside tomatoes fresh from farmers’ fields?
I’m all for supporting farmers – so if this is an option, please consider it!
In order to know if your tomatoes are ripe, give it a little gentle squeeze and it will give just slightly.
It should not be soft, but tender and bright red for the most part.
Tomatoes ripen from the inside out, so if you want one that is perfectly perfect – do the squeeze test!
Another great trick if you have almost-ripe tomatoes is to wash them off, dry them with a paper towel, and wrap them in black and white newspaper.
Store them in a dark, cool and dry place ( under the sink/counter) and most likely in a day or two, your tomatoes will be ready to enjoy!
Speaking of Cannabis Oil – if you’ve never made it before – you’ll need to do a little prep before you can chow down!
Tips For This Recipe:
You’re going to need a lot of buttermilk and a lot of regular frying oil.
If you don’t already have one – go out and grab an oil-specific thermometer so you can accurately gauge the oil’s temp- essential!
Make sure you have copious amounts of paper towels to soak up the grease, and wear a sexy apron to cover your clothes and have a little fun too!
